I made a speaker (( Thread started: February 7th, 2010, 8:14 PM ))
Ingredients:
Radioshack ceramic magnets: $2 for 5 An index card: $0.002 Radioshack magnet wire: $3 for a roll that can do like 40 Superglue: $1
I made a coil that fit the magnet, glued the coil to an index card square, glued the magnet to an index card below the coil (coil hovering half a millimeter above it) which is held up by a few scraps of index card and then tried it.
Results: Quiet, quiet, quiet. It sounds like if you plug in your headphones and turn up the volume all the way but you don't put them in your ears. However, the quality is actually superb, and the bass beats the output of my $60 headphones. The bass is like BOOM BOOM BOOM, which is probably because the magnet is huge. Would make excellent pair of headphones, I might rape a pair and replace the speakers with my own.
he sewed his eyes shut because he is afraid to see he tries to tell me what I put inside of me he's got the answers to ease my curiosity he dreamed up a god and called it christianity

okay so I didn't have a real camera so the best I can do for now is this little keychain camera.
will take better pictures later/will make less crappy speaker later.
BREAKTHROUGH: holding a magnet above it with the polarities in the opposite direction dramatically increases volume and bass.
and bass was already dramatic

Mic an inch from the thing, background noises are me being what I thought was silent. Around 34 seconds is when I add the second magnet. Typing is my sister, 15 feet away, so you can guess how quiet the thing is.
