Chao Club of the Future Chapter 1 *yawn* Ben woke up early in the morning. Dim light streamed through the windows as the sun rose. Ben got up and got dressed. It was Summer vacation, and Ben was enjoying the free days. Most of the time he was on Chao Club. He joined a month ago when looking on Google, and spent most of his time there since. “Let’s see here” Ben said, looking at the computer screen intently. “Man, none of my topics are doing well. The only people I’m getting to post in them are noobs. Am I not popular, or do my topics suck?” He muttered to himself. While he thought about which problem caused his low topic popularity, two guys in another city were making a deal. “So, you got the program?” One voice asked. “Yeah, it’s here. Just send it to the main Internet server and the virus will be set.” The other one said. “Will this really wipe out all the others?” The first voice asked again. “Yeah. Now do you have the money?” The second voice asked hastily. “Right here” The first guy put an aluminum briefcase on the table, and opened it. Inside were bundles of money connected by cheap rubber bands. The second man looked at the money, his eyes gleaming in the dark. “If this doesn’t work, I will hunt you down.” The first man said with an edge of hostility. “Go ahead” The second man grunted. “It’ll work. No virus has the potential of such destruction as this. Your website will be the only operational program on the Internet.” “Remember, any word of this will end you,” The first man whispered. “I don’t give away my customers. Helps me none, wastes my time, wastes my life,” The second man said as he ran with the briefcase and vanished into the dark. “Finally. Time to get rid of the competition.” Said the first man with an evil laugh. Ben got up from posting on Chao Club and decided to take a walk. It was a nice day outside, and life seemed to be begging him to go outside. He enjoyed most of it until- Ben heard a loud, screeching noise, and then everything went black. All sounds and light faded away from him as he sat motionless. He couldn’t move or speak. It felt like everything was spinning. Then he felt something poking his side. To be continued... Chapter 2 Ben started to see light. Every bone in his body ached and he felt cold. He could just make out the sounds of two people talking. “Who is this guy?” One voice said. “I don’t know. He looks badly injured” The other voice said. “You think everyone’s injured. Then again, he seems to have a pretty bad hit to the head. At least he’s breathing. Though, he might be unconscious. Go get a doctor or someone.” The first person said. “Okay.” The second person agreed as he ran off for help. While the second person was off for help the first person said, “Man, you look really scrawny. You must have been here for a while. What am I doing? I’m talking to someone who looks like a dead corpse.” Suddenly, he heard footsteps and the second boy came over, followed by some paramedics. They crowded around Ben and put him on a stretcher. Working quickly, they hoisted Ben into an ambulance. “Weird. I wonder where he came from, or what happened to him,” The second boy wondered. Ben finally woke up and saw he was inside a white room with various medicines. His body felt much better. Then, the door opened and two people, who seemed to be 16 years old, walked in. “Are you okay?” The first kid asked. “I’m fine. What’s going on?” Ben asked. “We found you on the ground unconscious. We’re wondering what happened to you.” The second kid said. “Well, I was taking a walk outside, and then I heard a loud noise. Suddenly, everything went black. Then I woke up here.” Ben answered . “When were you taking a walk?” Asked the second boy skeptically. “June 19,” Ben replied. “Year?” Asked the second boy. “2006, of course,” Said Ben in annoyance. “June 19, 2006? That was one year ago. Are you sure you’re alright?” The first kid asked. “A YEAR AGO?!? That makes no sense! How could I live unconscious for a year?” Ben asked bewildered. “I don’t know. By the way, I’m Dave. This is my friend Jim.” Said the first person or, Dave. “Anyway, you’re back to normal, and my parents said you could stay with me at my house for a while.” Said Dave. “Thanks.” Said Ben happily. When they got to Dave’s house, Ben told Dave about when he was on Chao Club. “Chao Club? Of course you’re on Chao Club. Practically everyone is.” Dave said. “It wasn’t that popular the last time I checked. Why is it so popular?” Ben asked questioningly. “A year ago, about the time you say to have been hurt, a virus destroyed the Internet beyond repair. Nothing works on the Internet except Chao Club. They wanted to delete this Internet and make another, but the virus was sent to all of the copies and prototypes. It even keeps new forms of the Internet from working. No one can destroy the virus, so everyone goes to Chao Club.” Explained Dave. “Wow. That must have taken some virus.” Said Ben. “It was. Only an illegal computer mastermind could have made such a thing, but they would have no use for destroying the Internet so they probably sold it to someone for a fortune.” Dave said. “Can I see Chao Club?” Ben asked. “Sure.” Dave said while logging on to his computer. When Dave got onto his computer he showed Ben Chao Club. It wasn’t much like the old one. No chao topics were in site. “I’m guessing the staff have changed too.” Ben said. “Yeah. Luigicrowd left CC. The U.C.M. is still the leader and is one of the only ones here interested in chao. Nobody really likes chao ever since the virus. People have changed because of the virus too. DT doesn’t really talk to anyone anymore. The U.C.M. is the only one he talks to really. Alpha is one of the nicer people on CC. Heroic stopped being a staff member because of all the people who brake the rules. Most of the others are still there.” Dave explained. “Wow. I can’t believe how much CC has changed. Is the Special Lounge still on CC?” said Ben. “Yeah, but don’t expect to get in. They don’t give the code to anyone.” Said Dave seriously. “I know the code for it when I was on it last time.” Ben replied. “REALLY?!?! THAT’S AWSOME! There are so many secrets in the Special Lounge. This might even get DT to talk to you. Not to mention they usually let people in the Special Lounge become Staff which is a big honor in CC.” Dave said. “Well, okay.” Said Ben as he entered the code. To be continued... Chapter 3 “WOW.” Said Dave “Wow indeed.” agreed Ben. The Secret Lounge had many web sites that were operational. They were mainly forums. They covered many topics. “How are there any web sites? They were all destroyed after the virus.” Dave pointed out questioningly. “Yeah. Maybe we can ask the U.C.M.” Ben suggested. When they found the U.C.M. one of the chat rooms they started to ask the questions. (In the Chat) Giga Chao: How are there any web sites here? U.C.M.: We made new sites in the Secret Lounge. Giga Chao: Won’t the virus destroy them? U.C.M.: The Special Lounge is protected more than anywhere else. We have millions of the latest fire walls and anti-virus programs to keep this area safe. Giga Chao: Why keep this area a secret from everyone else? U.C.M.: Because whoever sent the virus might try to attack this place with an even stronger virus if he/she knows other sites are here. Giga Chao: Why didn’t the virus destroy us too? U.C.M.: I don’t know. Now stop asking questions. You’re getting annoying. (Out of Chat) “I wonder who sent that virus.” Ben thought out loud. “Everyone does.” Dave replied. “We’ve got to figure out who did it.” Ben announced. “ARE YOU CRAZY?!?! We could never find this guy. He must be a great mastermind. This kind of search would be hopeless.” Dave yelled. “He might be closer than we think. He only left Chao Club, so maybe he wants Chao Club to thrive. He may even be a staff member.” Ben pointed out. “But why would someone destroy everything on the Internet and send Bill Gates into hopelessness? I don’t think a regular forum would be worth that much.” Dave asked. “Who knows? All we know is... actually nothing.” Ben said. “Hey, we got a PM.” said Dave pointing at the screen. To be continue... Chapter 4 “It’s from an unknown user. Probably someone spamming you.” Dave said. “I don’t know. It might not be. Let’s check it out.” Ben decided. (In PM) I saw you. You seem very interested in why and who set the virus. Well, you better keep out of it. It’s none of your concern. You should stop now before you get hurt. (Out of PM) “How does this guy know what we’re trying to find out?” Ben asked. “You mean YOUR trying to find out. Your just dragging me along.” Dave said angrily. “Hey, you know you want to find out too. We now know there is someone who is in CC and knows something about this virus that we don’t. We’re in perfect position to figure this out.” Said Ben. “Yeah, but the PM said that this matter is worth fighting for, and I don’t want to be injured, or even killed over this virus. Even if we know who set the virus, he might not be able to be found, and he might try to kill us.” Dave said with a hint of worry. “Your a real coward for your age.” Ben said. “Oh fine. But if anyone asks, you dragged me along with you.” Dave said. “*sigh*” Ben sighed. (In some unknown area) “I need another one. I’ve got the money. Now let’s make this quick.” A voice said. Another person handed over a chip and grabbed the money. They had made this deal before. The first person took the chip and walked away. “Those web sites in the Secret Lounge can’t stay forever. I will leave CC as the only site on the web.” He said to himself. “The only thing in the way are those protection programs. I’ve just got to disable them long enough to get it through.” (In chat room) Giga Chao: If one person in CC set a virus to destroy all other sites who do you think would do so? ChaoCream: Uuuuh... are you feeling alright? Giga Chao: I’m serious! Who would you think would do that if they were in CC? ChaoCream: Um, I gotta go. (Out of chat room) “Well that didn’t help. Everyone I ask that question to thinks I’m crazy!” Said Ben. “Maybe you are.” Joked Dave. “Shut up you.” Ben said sharply. “Only making suggestions.” Dave replied “Well they all suck.” Ben said angrily. “Well, why don’t you try asking DT? Maybe he’ll talk to you.” Said Dave wonderingly. Suddenly, they heard a loud noise. Then, everything went black. To be continued... Chapter 5 The screen went black anyway. “What’s wrong with the computer?” Ben asked. “I don’t know. My computer works well and the plug is still in so it must have something to do with the telephone polls. My computer crashes whenever some thing's wrong with the telephone for some reason.” Dave said. He looked out the window to see a telephone poll on the ground with burn marks of an explosion. “Well, strange that the telephone poll giving us Internet is destroyed by some type of explosion the day after we got a strange PM.” Ben said. “This isn’t good. They know where we are. We better stop searching for the person who set the virus now before it’s too late. Not to mention my computer won’t work so we couldn’t do anything even if we wanted to.” Dave said with an edge of fear in his voice. “Don’t you have a friend who will let us use their computer?” Ben asked. “Yeah. Let’s go and ask him.” Dave said with a sigh, seeing that arguing would be useless. And so they went off to Jim’s house. Meanwhile in a completely different place. “What? He’s still on even after I got rid of his Internet? If it didn’t stop his computer I at least thought that he would be scared off by the fact that I know where he is. Even though I don’t know where he is, because only the person I hired to find out where he lived and destroy his power knows where he lives. He won’t tell me where he is because it would be against the law which shouldn’t matter to him because he is breaking the law in giving me the virus and destroying a telephone pole in the first place. Though I could pay him to tell me where he is, he won’t tell me for reasons unknown. Why won’t he tell me? Why wasn’t Giga Chao scared off? Why am I being emo?” He said to himself in an emo-like fashion. “The only thing good right now is that I have coffee and muffins.” Dave and Ben arrived at Jim’s house. They were surprised to find him in his room playing some cheap games on his computer. “Why are you playing those worthless games? They all suck.” Ben asked. “Well, after I bought this computer I had little money for games so I bought these ones.” Jim said. “Not the point. Jim, can we use your computer? We need to get onto Chao Club. My computer has no Internet after our telephone poll was blasted to the ground.” Dave asked. “You came all the way to my house to ask if you could go onto CC on my computer? What a waste of time, but whatever.” Jim said as he got of the chair in front of the computer. “Ben, now you can talk to DT.” Dave said to Ben. “Here he is.” Ben said as he pointed to a chat room on the screen. (In chat room) Giga Chao: Hello DT. DT: ... Giga Chao: Are you going to talk? kscorps: HE DUSNT TALK CAUSE HES EMO!!1111 DT: What do you want? kscorps: OLOLoLoLoL BIG Ls OLOLOLOLOL Giga Chao: If someone in CC set a virus to destroy the Internet who do you think would do it? DT: You. Now go away. (Out of chat room) “Well, at least you got him to speak.” Dave said. “He might know something. Didn’t you notice how long it took to reply? He might think were on to him.” Said Ben. “Maybe DT set the virus.” Dave laughed. “Maybe you’re right.” Ben said. “I was joking.” Dave said as he stopped laughing. “Yeah, but think about it. He never talks to anyone, he hesitated to reply when we asked him about the virus, and nobody would expect a trusted Admin to set a virus.” Said Ben. “We might be able to capture the one who set the virus!” Suddenly Ben heard a *Thunk* and fell to the ground. To be continued... Chapter 6 It seemed like no time passed at all when he heard a familiar voice. “Ben? Ben, wake up.” Ben began to wake up. Light no longer came through the window. “Ben? Finally your awake. You’ve been unconscious four six hours.” Dave said. “What happened? Why does my head hurt?” Ben asked. “Well, some guy came through the open window and knocked you out. It took us a while to kick him out.” Dave said. “Why did he do that?” Ben asked. “Probably another guy sent by the virus setter.” Dave said grimly. “What are you talking about?” Jim asked curiously. “The person who set the virus knows we’re looking for him and has been trying to stop us. He first destroyed the telephone poll giving us Internet, and now he’s sent someone to attack us.” Dave explained. This comment silenced Jim. “We need to talk to the U.C.M. and tell him we almost know who it is!” Ben said quickly. “ARE YOU CRAZY?!?!?! Whoever set the virus is on CC. If we go blabing on about almost knowing where the virus setter is then the virus setter will probably have us killed!” Dave yelled. “Your right. We’ll go on when DT is offline.” Ben said. “Alright. I hope DT is the virus setter. If he isn’t and the real virus setter is on we’ll be goners.” Dave said. “There are two people looking for me?” The VS (virus setter) said. “Well, there were three of them, but one didn’t seem to be around the computer.” A man said. “That doesn’t matter. If we take one of them out there’s still the other two to cause us trouble.” Said the VS. “Well...” The man said before the VS interrupted, “Silence! I don’t need your help right now. I am mainly concentrating about getting the new virus into CC. Once complete, all the web sites that have been protected by CC will be destroyed and will never be able to be made again. And while I’m at it I’ll destroy the computer of our little pest with the virus.” “Pests, not pest.” The man corrected. “I SAID SILENCE!” The VS yelled. (In chat room) Giga Chao: I think I know who the virus setter is. U.C.M.: ...Yeah...right. kscorps: spamspamspamspamspamspamspamspam!!!!!1111 Giga Chao: I’m serious. He’s been trying to stop me. I think he knows the code to the Special Lounge. U.C.M.: Are you feeling alright? Giga Chao: I’M SERIOUS! I think I know who it is! Zero: WE ALLZ LIKEZ TO SPAMZORZ!!!!!1111 U.C.M.: Okay then, who is it? Giga Chao: I think it is DT. He never talks to anyone and he seemed to hesitate when I asked him who he thought was the virus setter. U.C.M.: THAT’S COMPLETELY CRAZY! DT is a highly respected member of CC. He’s NOT the virus setter. How could you get such a fucking retarded, mayn idea? kscorps: lololololololololololololololololololololololololololol!!!!!!1111 Giga Chao: That’s just it. Nobody would expect him to do so. He was in perfect position. U.C.M.: If you were in the position to kill Bill Gates and take his money would you do that? Giga Chao: Well...no... kscorps: OLOLSPAMALOTZOLOLOL U.C.M.: Exactly. Many perfect positions are not used, and for good reasons. Zero: I like to spamz through PMZ lolz!!!!!1111 (Out of chat room) “Well, now what?” Dave asked. “I don’t know.” Ben replied. “I don’t know.” To be continued... Chapter 7 Ben scrolled down page after page of crammed text on the glowing computer screen as Dave tinkered with some plastic, beige box with lots of old dusty buttons on it. Jim, meanwhile, was trying to figure out a Rubik's cube. The light was fading fast outside as the three worked tensely on whatever it was each was using. “Any luck with at finding an IP tracker?” Dave called over his shoulder, not drawing his eyes away from the strange plastic contraption. “No,” replied Ben. “Not a thing. I tried any results I found,” Ben took a sip of Diet Coke and continued, “but they were all pathetic. I even tried them on this house. It said we were in Beijing.” Ben said grudgingly as he sipped his Coke again and exited out of the Internet. Dave jammed a screwdriver into the box and pried it open with a load CRACK to reveal rusty parts coated in dust and mold. “Not surprising,” Dave said as a puff of dust blew out at him. “The lounge won't have much of anything good for IP trackers. Even with regular Internet it you wouldn't get far.” Jim just started to realize Dave and Ben were talking when he threw the Rubik's cube into the trash in frustration. “I heard of a kid at my school who's made IP trackers. In fact, he's made a lot of computer junk. Haven't really seen him at school cause he's one of those kids who's failed, like, eight times.” Dave said, leaning back in a chair. Both Ben and Dave whipped their heads to face Jim, staring in astonishment. "Why didn't you tell us from the beggining?" Ben and Dave said in perfect syncronism. "Well I wasn't listening to you guys, I was trying to solve the Rubiks Cube." "...That was a keychain Rubiks Cube. There were four blocks on each side..." Dave replied. "Uuh...the stickers were messed up or somethingyou know what I'm just gonna go talk to that guy I know. I know where he lives. He probably already has one made that he can copy onto a flash drive." "Will it cost us?" Ben asked. "Nah, it's too simple for him to price it. Unless you start acting like it's seriously rare and say you can't find it anywhere, then he'll take advantage." "Well, we just waisted several hours for nothing. Ben, you go with Jim to see that guy. I gotta finish trying to fix this thing." "Ok, whatever." Ben said, getting out of his chair. Ben followed Jim downstairs and out the garage door. Even with the dim light of the sunset, it stung Ben and Dave's eyes horribly after being in the room that's only light was the computer screen and what little light that came through the blinders. Jim started walking out the garage, when a spot of dirt in front of his feet made a mini explosion of dust. Jim and Ben stood confused for a quarter of a second until they heard the following BOOM that hammered their ears like a demolition ball. Ben's first thought was another explosion taking out another telephone line, but before he could say or think anything more, Jim ran back to him and knocked him back into the garage with the strength of a proffesional quarterback, and slammed the garage door button for it to close. "What the hell is going on?!" Ben asked, while feeling the full effects of the painful hit. "You saw that little spot in front of me blast into dust? That was from a bullet." Jim said in a rushed voice as he dug through a bunch of junk piled up in a corner of the garage. "...A sniper!?!?!" Ben repeated. "Yeah, a sniper. We got to get back to Dave. They might see a silouhette of him through the blinders. Here, take this." Jim tossed Ben a rifle, probably a 22 guessed Ben. "So what do we do?" Ben asked tentavely. "First of all, we get to Dave. Then, we see if we can snipe the sniper." Jim said quickly. "...what kind of idiotic idea is that? Why can't we call the police? If we try to fight him we'll get killed! All we have is a 22, versus a high powered sniper rifle." "Well, if we call the police the sniper will be gone instantely, and can come back to shoot us again, most likely with a better shot. If we fight now, we can at least end in a bang, instead of while taking a walk in the park while our sniper friend is around. Oh, and we don't only have one 22. That's just a small one I got. I also got an assault rifle that takes 22s, which has a clip, scope, the whole lot. Then I got two 22 pistols, and a full automatic 560 round-per-clip BB gun. That enough to keep you satisfied?" "I can't believe this started out as a walk outside in the park." Ben said, shaking his head slowly in shock as he followed Jim through the garage-house door. *** Dave watched as Ben and Jim left the room, then got back to working on the rusty old contraption. He started spraying the interior with canned air, straining to get what dust and loose mold off of it that he could. There was a low chance of him actually getting it to work again, as he new well, but he had to try. Before this was a wild goose chase to him, something that could never be accomplished. With the FBI using the lie-detectors that used powerful MRI units to have 99.976% accuracy, and many on the job to find the man who did this, it seemed all too impossible to capture the VS. The MRI lie-detectors are what gave him the most doubt about it being DT. But who knows? The .976% is there for something. Maybe there was hope. The VS is trying to go after them anyway, so they must be on the right guy. Those thoughts had passed through him 3 hours ago, and is what lead him to trying to fix the beige contraption. It was funny how old illegal technology such as what he was trying to revive was better than most at doing it's job. But then again, a contraption that could trace one's IP to a landline and call it immediately was pretty impressive for any contraption, old or new. If only it got the IP instead of the phone number, Dave thought as he pried a moldy piece of gunk plastered to part of it's interior. It wasn't long before Dave heard an ear-blasting BOOM that rattled the windows. Great, another blasted telephone pole, thought Dave grudgingly, but as he looked up to the computer, he saw it continuing to work normally. He put down the bow onto the bed, got up, and moved to the computer, and tried to refresh the page. The Internet still worked. What the hell is going on- just as Dave finsihed his sentance Jim and Ben came crashing into the room. Dave wasn't sure what surprised or scared him more, Ben holding a rifle in his hands, or Jim diving onto him. Of course, he didn't get much time to figure it out because of Jim. "*oof* Get offa me! What the hell's wrong with you!" Dave yelled incrediously. Jim got off of Dave, but did not stand up. Even Ben was on the floor. "Saving your life that's what! Now stay on the ground and be quiet" Jim reached behind his desk, brought out two pistols, and tossed them to Dave, who barely caught them. Then, moving quickly for being hunched over to barely two feet tall, opened the door to his closet and brought out what looked like an assault rifle, the kind that's used in the military, with a scope, curved magazine, silencer, and a tactical light. Dave could only imagine how much it cost him to get that. Though, his imagining was cut short as the window suddenly exploded, glass being littered across the room, some digging themselves into the wall and various other items around the room, though luckily none of them hitting either of the three. Following it up was the mind rattling BOOM that punctured their minds to the very core. Jim moved fast, sprinting to the window, and letting off a spray of 6 bullets in the direction the bullet seemed to come from. As soon as he ducked another hole appeared in the wall behind them, quickly followed by another boom. Dave's head was spinning, and rattled with intensifying pain as Jim laid off another 6 bullets out the window. Shock was settling into him and panic started to overwhelm him, making him dizzy, making him feel as though he were about to pass out. And soon enough, the last thing he saw was Ben racing off out of the room, and one last BOOM of a high-powered rifle, as darkness filled every slot of his vision, as he fell into the spiraling pit of unnconsiousness. Ben stayed in position, trying to stay as calm as he could with bullets flying everywhere and his friend going unconcious on the floor. Whether Dave was going unncouncious from shock or getting hit by shrapnel he did not know, which is what mainly strained him to stay calm. While Jim sent another spray of bullets out the window, he signaled to Ben to get into position. Ben obeyed, thankfully remembering the plan Jim had rushed by him while on their way to his room. He rocketed to the door with the gun in his hands. As soon as he turned and got out of the doorway he heard the powerful BOOM of the sniper rifle. He ran down the hallway and turned into the room at the very end of the hallway. As he moved for the window he turned off the safety of his gun and made sure the cap was off the scope. He then fiddeled with the window locks until the jammed levers finally moved, and released the window. He lifted it up, and rested the gun on the window sill trying to pinpoint the sniper's position. He searched first with his naked eye, and when failing with that went into the scope. He still saw nothing of a sniper. Taking his head back from the scope, he scanned the outdoors again with his eye. He was about to go back to the scope when he saw a small gleaming point of light. He looked into his scope and pointed it at the gleaming light. It took him a while to get the scope perfectly focused, but when he did, the blood drained from his face in a fraction of a second. The gleam was from a scope, and right under the scope was the barrel of the gun: pointing right at him. To be continued... Please rate.

3 page essay? In 4th grade? In half an hour? Shit, I don't even do that now and I sure as hell didn't then. I don't think any elementary or middle school kids are capable of writing a 3 page essay.

Technically it didn't have to be three pages, but by the end of the year it was labeled bad if it wasn't on a second piece of paper. Even the smartest kids in the entire 17-person class barely finished in time most days.

Maybe my memory's going on the half-hour bit, but there was no way it was more than an hour. Either way, it was an unreasonably short amount of time.

I don't know if I was clear on this, but it was one page front and back, then on another page.

They had no proof they were pirated....

Also, when i got banned from the school network for a DC emulator, they said they werent going to make a police report out of it. They can't anyway because the emulator itself isn't illegal, only the roms are.

I got a detention for calling some kid a faggot my freshman year of highschool. Turns out my teacher was a fuckin dyke. She said I was "grandstanding" because when she told me to step outside into the hallway I pointed to the only exit to the room and asked "This hallway?". I hardly call that anything but a harmless joke D:

As am I, although my record is completely clean. I tried to get kicked out..
Yelling in a teacher's face didn't work.
